About the 2nd District
Corridors 2 Community Initiative

Corridors 2 Community is an initiative of the Office of Los Angeles County Supervisor Holly J. Mitchell that is focused on partnering with community organizations, local businesses, and county departments to revitalize small business corridors in unincorporated communities throughout LA County’s 2nd District.

A key part of Corridors 2 Community is increasing access to the wide range of services and resources the Los Angeles County Department of Economic Opportunity provides to support small businesses.

Why Central and Vermont?

Team Mitchell led an evaluation of 28 commercial corridors across the Second District, including analysis of socioeconomic and environmental justice indicators, vulnerability to displacement, and existing community and commercial assets and amenities. While the office will continue to facilitate investment across the District, Central Ave and Vermont Ave were identified as pilot corridors for this initiative, based both on the high need and unique opportunities to leverage investments underway in these areas.
