Join the Office of Supervisor Holly J. Mitchell, Black Women for Wellness, Charles R. Drew University Black Maternal Health Center of Excellence, Hispanas Organized for Political Equality (HOPE) and community partners for a day of connection, learning, and care to support new and expecting parents, caregivers, and their families.
Whether you are a parent, a maternal health ally, or a part of the village providing support, everyone is welcome to join this space to build community and share knowledge as we work towards a future where ALL mothers, parents, and babies can thrive.

Dr. Priya Batra, Deputy Director of the Health Promotion Bureau at Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, will discuss the department’s role in maternal health, highlight current initiatives, and share information about available programs and resources.

Dr. Bita Amani, Co-Founder and Strategic Advisor of Charles R. Drew University’s Black Maternal Health Center of Excellence, will discuss the Center’s mission, research and ongoing work to advance Black maternal health.

Xiomara Peña, Vice President of Community Engagement and Innovation at Hispanas Organized for Political Equity (HOPE), will share insights from their California Equity in Maternal Health Report and discuss efforts to improve maternal health outcomes for Black women and Latinas.
