EVACUATION ORDERS

Emergency Terms & Meanings:

If someone you know has received an evacuation order from an area with active wildfires, please encourage them to follow the evacuation order.

To search for a specific address that might be impacted, visit protect.genasys.com. Evacuation shelters for residents and animals are available on https://lacounty.gov/emergency/.

Evacuation Order

This means there is an immediate threat to life. This is a lawful order to leave now. The area is lawfully closed to access.  

Evacuation Warning

Potential threat to life and/or property.  Those who require additional time to evacuate, and those with pets and livestock should leave now. 

Shelter In Place

Go and stay in your home or indoors until further notice and/or contacted by emergency personnel for additional direction.

FAMILY ASSISTANCE CENTERS

Family Assistance Centers will open to provide information to people looking missing family and friends due to the January 2025 fires in Los Angeles County.

Airbnb partnership with 211 LA, is offering free temporary housing for residents displaced or forced to evacuate due to the recent wildfires.​

Hotel Vouchers for Wildfire Evacuees

211 LA, Hilton and American Express are teaming up to provide hotel vouchers for those displaced by the wildfires who currently reside in an evacuation zone. For more info on eligibility and to apply visit: https://bit.ly/211-Emergency-Services-Request

N95 Masks Available at All LA County Library Locations

N95 masks are available at all LA County Library locations (while supplies last). Masks are provided by the Department of Public Health. To find your nearest County Library, visit lacountylibrary.org.

LA County Assessor: “Misfortune and Calamity” Property Tax Relief

Property damaged or destroyed by the windstorms or wildfires may qualify for temporary property tax relief through the Misfortune and Calamity program.

FEDERAL RESOURCES

The Biden-Harris administration recently approved a major disaster declaration for California. We will share additional details on FEMA resources available for LA County residents impacted by this disaster, you can learn more here.

FEMA assistance is now available for residents impacted by LA County wildfires. To apply online visit DisasterAssistance.gov or on the FEMA App. You can also call the FEMA Helpline at 1-800-621-3362.

The centers open Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. PST. After Tuesday, Jan. 14, the hours and locations will be as follows:

2ND DISTRICT PARKS

To support families impacted by the Eaton fire, LA County Parks Care Camps will provide youth and teens with a supportive space for fun and recreation including music, arts and crafts, sports activities and field trips to the LA County Natural History Museum, La Brea Tar Pits, Dodger Stadium, and more. Breakfast, snacks, and lunch will be provided daily; teens will also get supper.
